ICYMI:
In case you missed it, Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Adam Laxalt hosted and attended a series of outreach events with the Greater Las Vegas Latino community this week to include a business tour and meet & greet dinner. These events build off the campaign’s other Latino outreach efforts this week (see “Background” below).
On Tuesday, Adam visited Avant Garde Design Center, a small business in East Las Vegas, owned by Cuban-American Maria Caminero. Her business provides upholstery services to a variety of businesses in the Las Vegas Valley. Over the past year, her business has been severely hit with the ongoing supply chain issues.
On Thursday night, Adam hosted a meet & greet dinner in Las Vegas where he spoke to a packed, high-energy room filled with members of the Latino community at Bonito Michoacan Mexican Restaurant. Speakers included Lydia Ruiz, a Hispanic mother, parental rights activist, and former Democrat; Cristina Aguilera Ramos, a Hispanic Army Veteran and former Democrat staffer; Victoria Seaman, Hispanic Las Vegas City Councilwoman; Jesus Marquez, Latinos for Laxalt Special Advisor; and Adam Laxalt. A prayer recited in Spanish by local Las Vegas Pastor Hilda Espadas kicked off the event.

Laxalt Campaign Statement:
“I'm immensely grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received from the Latino community throughout this campaign,” Laxalt stated. “As I’ve traveled across the state, I’ve had the chance to speak with countless Latino families to hear their stories and hear about their concerns and priorities. Like many families, they are concerned about rising prices, the cost of gas, our open border, and the deadly uptick in violent crime.
“The leftist policies championed by Senator Cortez Masto and President Biden are hurting Latino families and undermining the safety and security of their communities,” Laxalt continued. “It is no wonder 70 percent of Hispanics disapprove of Joe Biden’s performance as President. If elected, I will work hard every day to address the real concerns of the Latino community and ensure that every single American - regardless of background or ethnicity - has the opportunity to live the American dream.”
Background:
- These initiatives build off the Laxalt campaign’s Latino outreach efforts, which were punctuated by the launch of the Latinos for Laxalt coalition in March.
- On Monday, July 25th, Laxalt announced the release of his first Spanish language radio ad, which will run statewide across Nevada. The spot, titled “Left Behind,” sheds light on Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s failure to address core issues facing workers and families throughout the Silver State.
- The Laxalt campaign also launched our Latinos for Laxalt website this week, available in English and Spanish, for voters wanting to learn more about the campaign.
- A recent survey from Blueprint Polling showed Laxalt and Cortez Masto tied among Hispanic voters.
- In other recent polling from Quinnipiac, 70% of Hispanics disapprove of Joe Biden and 73 percent think the country is worse off than it was a year ago
- As reported this week by the Washington Post, national polls suggest that Latinos are moving sharply away from the Democratic Party in Nevada.
